Our Responsive Homes were the feature cover story of Builder Magazine during the 2016 International Builders Show.
The Gallery House sits next to our Modern Farmhouse like a proud big brother.
Indigenous plant species flank the steps that lead up to the entry of the Gallery House.
The Gallery House back yard is a party host’s dream come true. It features multiple entertaining spaces, including an outdoor kitchen with eat-in bar and big screen TV’s, dining, living, sunken-in fireplace lounge with TV, pool with swim up bar and sun lounging areas and sustainable water feature, and a side yard with a custom dog house, above-ground planter boxes perfect for herb gardening, and a covered ping pong and dart area. No guest could ever be bored here!
Who could resist this pool?
The courtyard features an outdoor lounge area, a water feature that includes an LED lighted pool with stone steps and a waterfall, and a living wall of desert succulents. The entire home is oriented to the backyard, with pocket glass doors on all sides and consistent tile flooring that visually expands the home’s overall living space to the outdoors.
Floating steps take you up to an elevated yard for sunbathing during the day and hot tubbing at night.
The outdoor kitchen features a grill that any grill master could be proud of, as well as an outdoor refrigerator, ice-maker, refrigerated keg tap, and seating for 12 between the bar and dining table.
The recessed patio features a comfortable covered seating area to cuddle up by the fire or enjoy the game. Adjacent, the pool-side bar area features barstools outside and stone seats inside the pool, so you can sip a cocktail whether you want to get wet or stay dry.
The Gallery House’s grand entry sets the tone of the home from the moment you walk up to the 9-foot full glass front door. Upon entering, you are transported to a modern art gallery, with muted tones that allow the unique, colorful art pieces to take center stage.
Another great view of the entry from the landing on the stairs.
The dining room features pocket sliding doors that fully open to the exterior entertaining areas. To the back, you take in views of the spectacular back yard and pool, while the front offers views of the famed Las Vegas Strip. Day or night, a meal here will be a memorable occasion friends will talk about all year.
The Kitchen was also designed with the party host in mind. We created a separate service kitchen behind the main one, where caterers can prep for your guests or where you can stow away any mess and keep the main entertaining space tidy during a party. Both spaces feature white Carrera marble countertops, and a vivid blue floor-to-ceiling subway tile backsplash. An outdoor breakfast area is perfect for morning-after mimosas.
The living room is full of vibrant and playful colors. We designed a comfortable central seating area and accented the space with bright colors, rich textures (such as a the pink braille feature wall and chunky wool rug), and lots of unexpected surprises (is that a basket of tennis balls?!). The living room opens up to the adjacent courtyard and covered outdoor game room to the side yard.
Another great view of the living room that shows the fun, modern ping pong table outside.
The Master bath features graphic walls accentuated by the stylish and sexy black hex tile and contrasting light grout. The space is warmed up by the use of a natural wood tree trunk cut into a slab for the countertop. The edge follows the organic shape of the gorgeous piece of wood that we selected. The double-sided gas fireplace allows a peak back into the master suite from the oversized soaker tub.
We couldn’t resist showing another view of the refined and masculine master bathroom, showcasing the incredible private master balcony that features another fireplace, lots of space to lounge and environmentally friendly Astroturf for children and puppies to play on.
Just off the master bath, we’ve created a private office area that’s perfect for a workaholic spouse. You can get away without bothering your spouse, and yet you don’t lose connection to the rest of the master suite.
